CLIMATE EMERGENCY CONFERENCE - FRIDAY 29 MARCH AND OTHER EVENTS

There is LOTS happening over the next few weeks, following on from Lancaster City's Council's recent decision (with unanimous cross-party support) to declare a climate emergency and to go zero carbon by 2030.

Just a few of the highlights are below and you can find out more by joining the Morecambe Bay Extinction Rebels group on
Facebook.

Climate Emergency Conference -  Friday 29 March, 10am - 4pm in Lancaster Town Hall (booking essential). Lots of great speakers from all over the country, including several from the Green Party.

Public meeting: 'Extinction Rebellion: Why Rebel?' - Monday 1st April, 7-9 pm at the Gregson Arts & Community Centre 7-9pm.

WALK FOR FREEMAN'S WOOD - SUNDAY 7 APRIL 10.30 A.M. TIL 12.30 P.M
A reminder that Friends of Freeman's Wood and Coronation Field are organising a 5 km circular walk starting at Coronation Field (Willow Lane) at 10.30 a.m.
The aim is to celebrate the arrival of spring and the strong community resistance to destroying Freeman's Wood for a new housing development.  (You can still object to the planning application - details of how to are here.)
Entertainment and refreshments will be provided at the end of the walk.
Donations or sponsorship are welcome towards the cost of hiring a barrister to defend the Town Green Application for Freeman's Wood.  Please donate via Golden Giving if you can.

LUNE ESTUARY LITTER PICK - GOOD FRIDAY 19 APRIL, 10.00 A.M. TILL 12 NOON

Following our two very successful Lune litter picks last year, we're organising another spring clean - meet either at the end of New Quay Road, Lancaster, or at Stodday picnic site down the lane from the water treatment works - map attached, and you may need wellingtons for the last part of the path (NB we are not meeting at the bottom of Aldcliffe Hall Lane this time). Tongs, gloves and bags will be provided.  More details, if required, from Mollie Foxall.

Critical Mass bike ride Friday 26 April, starting 5.45pm in Dalton Square.
