Bare resident Chloe Buckley has been selected by the North Lancashire Green Party as their parliamentary candidate for the Green Party in Morecambe and Lunesdale at the next general election.
Chloe, a university lecturer, lives in Bare with her family and has been an active member of the Green Party for the past six years, protesting against fracking locally and supporting the party in the recent local elections where the Green Party took ten seats.
I live in Morecambe and work as a university lecturer. Our area has been neglected by the government and the current MP, David Morris. As your Green MP, I will fight to secure the Eden Project with a zero carbon commitment and guaranteed jobs for local people. I'll campaign for more funding for our local schools and other public services, which have suffered through a decade of austerity. It's essential that government, businesses and individuals take urgent action on the climate crisis, and I will make this my top priority.
