Faye Penny

Faye Penny lives in Lancaster with her partner and two youngest children.

Faye works at Lancaster’s only fully vegan café The Herbarium. She also volunteers for local food charity Eggcup. She has previously volunteered at Lancaster Steiner School and Piccadilly Gardens, helped mobilize for the Lancaster Let Our Kids Be Kids anti-SAT’s campaign, and organised the Lancaster Bridges Not Walls campaign.

Faye was also heavily involved in the successful anti fracking campaign at Preston New Road and took an active role in the local Food Not Bombs campaign, collecting supermarket waste, and delivering it to the local homeless shelter. She is interested in the politics of food and is an organizer and treasurer of Lancaster Vegan Feast.

Faye became a Councillor on Lancaster City Council, representing John O'Gaunt ward in 2019, initially with the Labour Party, then as one of five Eco-Socialist Independants, before joining the Green Party in 2022. Then stepped down in 2023.

On joining the Greens, Faye said, “I’m excited to be joining The Green Group on Lancaster City Council. Having worked closely on many issues including the right to food campaign and the Marsh to Central school bus service, I know that Greens are an extremely hardworking, active group and we have shared values towards social and environmental justice”.
