Jean O’Neill

Jean O'Neil Profile PictureSkerton resident Jean has recently retired, after 20 years as a head teacher in Manchester and Rochdale. She has worked across Lancashire as an adviser, inspector and school governor, and has been a volunteer and trustee for a number of projects promoting environmental and citizenship education.

Jean has been a Green party supporter for a decade because "only the Green
Party has the policies to ensure fairness for young and old". She says "It's vital that communities regain control of education, which for too long has been badly led from Westminster. All schools should have the resources to provide the best education for all".

Jean is keen to improve facilities for young people, and is determined to ensure that decisions on the future of the Skerton school site are made in full consultation with local residents.
