I am 24 and a recent graduate from Lancaster University. I studied Earth & Environmental Science with a year abroad in Iceland and a year working in the energy industry. While I was a student I coordinated the Community Fridge, helping to reduce food waste by providing free food that would otherwise have been thrown away. I now work part-time for Green Lancaster in the Environmental Projects Team working on a variety of things from hosting cycle consultations to building shelving units out of old pallet wood.
Following my by-election campaign, I set up and am now a co-director of Precious Plastic Lancaster CIC - recycling Lancaster's plastic that isn't taken from the kerbside and trying to change people's value of plastic. I am also involved with sustainable food in Lancaster, environmental groups such as Extinction Rebellion and LYFE and enjoy getting into the outdoors with climbing, kayaking and caving. I am passionate about about people enjoying their time on a sustainable world and I want to help make that happen.
I would love to be elected so that I can work as part of a dynamic group of Green City Councillors. Greens in Lancaster have an impressive track record of working with communities and securing funding for local projects.
