Mike Pickton

Mike has lived in Fleetwood for most of his life - over 30 years. He is an optician working in the health service. Mike is a great advocate of green and safe energy, and has concerns about the effects of fracking. In the last few years, he has taken an interest in local politics and how he can support and regenerate the local area.

Mike was a Pharos Ward Candidate for Wyre Council in 2023, saying:

"I believe that the Green Party’s values and policies could have a genuine positive impact on the local area, including policies for affordable and retrofitted houses, for clean energy, for clean air, for investing in public transport and for giving power to local authorities to address public transport issues. Environmental and social justice issues impact our current and future lives both locally and nationally. As a Green Councillor, I would put the public and communities first."
