UPDATE FROM GREEN COUNCILLORS
There is a meeting of the full City Council (all 60 councillors) on Wednesday 14 November at 6 p.m. at Morecambe Town Hall. Items of particular interest are:
- A petition from residents of Bulk and Castle wards asking the council to work with the Musicians' Co-op in Lodge Street (currently threatened with eviction) to find a sustainable alternative.
- Councillor Tim Hamilton-Cox has initiated a motion to greatly improve energy efficiency standards for all new buildings in the district.
- That same motion calls for social and affordable housing in the Canal Quarter to be re-instated in the Local Plan. (It had mysteriously disappeared.)
- There will also be an important progress report on the Canal Quarter.
