Call for target candidates for Lancashire County Council elections in 2025

30 August 2023

North Lancs Green Party is seeking candidates to stand for election in May 2025 in 8 target divisions in Wyre, Lancaster and Lunesdale. As a target candidate you will need to work hard as part of a team over the next 18 months to increase your chances of getting elected.

If elected (for a 4 year term, until 2029), you will receive a basic annual allowance of around £12,000, plus travel, subsistence and carers' expenses if needed. You'll typically need to devote at least 12 hours per week to your Council duties, including dealing with emails and some daytime and evening meetings of the Council, Green Party and community groups on your patch.

Find out more about what is involved in being a target candidate/councillor, the selection process and how to nominate yourself, HERE.

The deadline for nominations is Tuesday 19 September 2023.

If you are not interested in becoming a County Councillor yourself, we still need your help. Think about who you know who might make a good community representative and Green campaigner - even if they are not (yet) a Green Party member. Please encourage them to consider standing!

We are also keen to hear from anyone interested in trying to win a Lancaster City Council or Wyre Council seat in 2027. Interested? Contact us at enquiries@northlancs.greenparty.org.uk
