Jago grew up in Galgate before moving up the road to Lancaster at age 7. Attending Ellel St. Johns and then then the Boys’ Grammar, he went on to study History at Cambridge.
At university, he’s been working with the Community Kitchen to supply free hot meals to people suffering from the present corporate-induced cost-of-living crisis. Last summer, he worked with the local Citizen’s Advice Bureau to compile a report on school uniform poverty that was reported on by the Lancaster Guardian.
In his spare time, he enjoys painting, drawing, running, hiking, reading books on just about any topic and playing/designing various types of tabletop game.
Jago became a Green supporter in 2020 after being horrified by the shift of the political mainstream towards the right and going to look for a party that shared his ecosocialist views. He joined the party in 2021, and stood as a Westgate Ward Candidate for Lancaster City Council in 2023.
