Our priorities for the County Council elections include
- to ensure that the County Council takes a lead in encouraging new jobs in sustainable industries across Lancashire – including community-owned renewable energy, and energy efficiency, and setting an example with its own buildings. Greens will continue to fight the fracking industry taking hold in Lancashire, which would destroy our other important sectors in agriculture and tourism.
-to ensure that all public services across Lancashire including the NHS work together to provide early help to people in need including older and disabled people, carers, children in care and refugees. We will campaign against any privatisation of services as this only ends in higher costs and poorer service in the long run.
- to provide support for local community facilities, arts and youth centres that are accessible to everyone, and ensure that our urban green spaces, parks and play areas are protected and improved.
