Sally lives in Glasson Dock with her husband and their dog, Harry. She is a proud step-parent to four children and two grandchildren. She worked in Lancaster City Council’s planning department for 14 years, and later as a community development manager in the charity sector.
At 53 Sally was diagnosed with breast cancer, and retired early while in recovery.
In a by election in May 2022, Sally was elected to Lancaster City Council to represent Ellel Ward.
This was the first time the Greens in North Lancashire had won a rural ward and gained a seat from the Conservatives, and took the Green group to a total of 11 Councillors, and the 2nd largest group on the Council.
Soon after, Sally joined the leadership team of the Green group of Councillors, and as such, also sits on the Executive Committee of the local party.
As a Councillor, Sally enjoys using her professional skills, and many years experience helping local residents and businesses to access services and overcome problems, to give back to her local community.
Sally says:
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to represent our area. I will continue to work hard on the many issues that residents are concerned about – not least the unnecessarily enormous scale of the proposed South Lancaster new town, and the impacts of traffic and speeding on rural communities.”
