Emily Heath

Emily Heath lives in Lancaster and taught Earth Sciences at Lancaster University for many years, where she was also a trade union branch officer and chaired a Sustainability Committee.

She now works part-time for a national campaigning organisation called Scientists for Global Responsibility.

She was one of the first five Greens ever to be elected to Lancaster City Council back in 1999, a role that she held for 12 years.

Since then she has chaired North Lancashire Green Party’s Executive Committee and organised many community events including annual Christmas Green Fairs.

In her role as the secretary of the Friends of Freeman’s Wood, she led the fundraising for the successful community buyout of the wood.
